Hire a Lifeguard

Minimum Booking Requirement
All Hire a Lifeguard bookings are subject to a minimum booking of two (2) consecutive hours per lifeguard.

The minimum booking fee applies regardless of the actual length of time the lifeguard's services are required. If the event ends early or the lifeguard is dismissed before the scheduled end time, the full minimum booking fee remains payable and no partial refunds or credits will be issued.

Any additional time beyond the original booking is subject to lifeguard availability and will be billed at the applicable hourly rate. Extensions are not guaranteed and must be approved by ABC First Aid + Aquatics.

I (the parent/legal gurdian or host of the event) recognize that the program may involve physical activity including, but not limited to, muscle strength and endurance training, cardiovascular conditioning and training, and other various fitness activities. I hereby affirm that I am in good physical condition and do not suffer from any known disability or condition which would prevent or limit my participation in this exercise program. Activity involves an element of risk and danger of accidents, and knowing those risks, I hereby assume those risks
I (the parent and/or legal gurdian) acknowledge that my enrollment and subsequent participation is purely voluntary and is in no way mandated by ABC first aid + aquatics. In consideration of my participation in this the company and its agents from any claims, demands, and causes of action as a result of my voluntary participation and enrollment.

I hereby consent that my child/myself and those I am in the care of may participate in the Activity, and I hereby execute the above agreement, waiver, and release on his/her behalf. I hereby assert that my me/my child the those in my care are physically able to participate in said activity. I hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Instructor from any loss, liability, damage, cost, or expense, which may occur as a result of death or injury, illness or property damage, that me or my child may sustain, while participating in the Activity.

I fully understand that me/my child and those in my care may injure themselves as a result of my enrollment and subsequent participation in this program and I (the parent and/or legal gurdian) hereby release ABC first aid + aquatics and its agents from any liability now or in the future for conditions that I may obtain

Cancellation & Weather Policy
By booking lifeguard services with ABC First Aid + Aquatics, the client agrees to the following cancellation and weather policies:

Cancellation Policy

• Cancellations made 48 hours or more prior to the scheduled service start time are eligible for a full refund.
• Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled service are non-refundable.
• Requests for cancellations or changes must be submitted in writing by email to info@abcfirstaidaquatics.com. The effective cancellation time will be the time the written notice is received.
• Verbal cancellations, text messages, or social media messages will not be accepted as official notice.
• If the client fails to provide access to the facility or the event is cancelled after the lifeguard has arrived, the booking will be considered a late cancellation and no refund will be issued.
• Refunds, where applicable, will be processed using the original method of payment within a reasonable timeframe.
  
  
  
  

Weather Policy

• Lifeguard services will proceed as scheduled during rain or light inclement weather.
• Lifeguards will not supervise swimming during thunder, lightning, or any Environment Canada extreme weather warning or advisory that makes aquatic activities unsafe.
• If swimming is temporarily suspended due to thunder or lightning, the lifeguard will follow recognized safety guidelines and may only resume supervision once conditions are deemed safe.
• If severe weather results in the cancellation of the event before the scheduled start time, ABC First Aid + Aquatics will work with the client to reschedule the service where possible. If rescheduling is not possible, any refund or credit will be determined at the sole discretion of ABC First Aid + Aquatics.
• Weather conditions that do not pose an immediate safety risk (including rain, cooler temperatures, or overcast conditions) are not grounds for cancellation or refund.
  
  

ABC First Aid + Aquatics' Right to Cancel, Right to Refuse or Termiate Services

• ABC First Aid + Aquatics reserves the right to cancel or terminate lifeguard services if conditions are deemed unsafe, if the pool or aquatic environment does not meet minimum safety standards, or if circumstances beyond our reasonable control (including severe weather, illness, emergencies, or other unforeseen events) prevent us from providing services. In such cases, every reasonable effort will be made to provide a qualified replacement lifeguard or to reschedule the booking.
• The safety of all participants and our lifeguards is the highest priority. ABC First Aid + Aquatics reserves the right to refuse, suspend, or immediately terminate lifeguard services without refund if, in the lifeguard's sole professional judgment:
  • Participants or guests display aggressive, abusive, threatening, violent, or harassing behaviour toward the lifeguard or others.
  • Participants or guests fail to follow the lifeguard's instructions, posted pool rules, or established safety procedures.
  • Alcohol or drug use results in unsafe behaviour that places any individual at risk.
  • The number of swimmers exceeds the number disclosed at the time of booking or exceeds the agreed-upon supervision ratio.
  • The pool, surrounding area, or equipment is determined to be unsafe or unsuitable for lifeguard supervision.
  • The client provides false or misleading information regarding the event or swimming conditions.
  • Any other circumstance arises that, in the lifeguard's reasonable professional opinion, presents an unacceptable risk to the health or safety of participants or the lifeguard.
  • If lifeguard services are suspended or terminated for any of the reasons listed above, the booking will be considered fulfilled, and no refund, credit, or partial reimbursement will be provided.
