We realize there is "no place like home" for your pet(s), and that we cannot duplicate the environment to which they are accustomed. However, it is our sincere purpose to provide a safe, comfortable, and caring environment for them while under our attention. Please read our boarding policies, and if you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask.
- For their protection all pets must be current on all required vaccines and proof provided if not done at our facility. *If proof is unable to be obtained the vaccines will be administered during their stay. This may require an examination ($58.99-61.99) if they have not been seen at Alpine Animal Hospital (AAH) within the last 12 months.
- Dogs must have current Rabies, DHPP or DA2PP (Distemper/Parvo), and Bordetella
- Cats must be current on FVRCP (administered within the last 12 months) and Rabies
- All medications and supplements must be brought in their original prescription bottle or container.
- All animals must be free of internal and external parasites. If not, diagnosis and treatment will be performed at AAH at the owner’s expense. This may require an examination.
- Owners may bring personal toys, beds, blankets, etc. for their pet, but please note that AAH is not responsible for any lost or destroyed personal items.
- We encourage owners to bring their pet's regular diet for continuity. For staff and other boarding pets' safety, raw meat diets will not be fed - any provided diets must be cooked. If the regular diet is not provided, we will feed high quality dog or cat food for the duration of your pet's stay. AAH is not responsible for any symptoms your pet may exhibit from an abrupt diet change.
- AAH will not board a human-directed aggressive pet for the safety of both the pet and our staff.
- Due to the inherent stress of routine change and increased exposure to non-family pets while boarding, all boarded pets, even when fully vaccinated, are at an increased risk for illness/injury. This can cause sore throats, voice changes, cough, diarrhea, constipation, changes in appetite, excessive grooming, and shedding.
- If your pet becomes sick or injured during its stay, we will attempt to contact you and/or your listed emergency contact before treating, unless emergency intervention is required prior to contact. If we are unable to reach you in a reasonable amount of time, your pet will be diagnosed and treated at your expense.
- Minor injuries, such as scratches, may occur during group play time due to the nature of dog play.
- As the pet owner, it is your responsibility to pay for costs associated with treating any illness or injury that arises while your pet is boarding with us.
- Pets can be checked in and checked out during regular hospital hours only. Boarding rates begin the day of drop off and continue until the day of pick up (no daily fee is charged for the day of pick up if your pet goes home before 12pm).
- During holiday boarding times a deposit is required to make a reservation.
- The needs of your pet can change while they are here, or over the course of time with repeat boarding stays. This may necessitate a different tier of boarding care than initially discussed at time of reservation or check in. Tier placement is determined by the needs of your pet and is at the discretion of AAH’s veterinarians and boarding staff.
- For pets whose needs place them within boarding Tier 4 or Tier 5, an examination is required to ensure our veterinarians and staff understand your pet's individual care and baseline health to ensure their needs are appropriately met during their medical-grade boarding stay. Examinations at other hospitals are not sufficient for this, and the examination must have been completed at AAH within the past 6 months from your boarding reservation.
