Directors at Large are voting members of the Board of Directors and are involved in decision making on issues pertaining to governance and strategy of the Society according to its mission and bylaws. Directors at large advise the Executive Committee in the overall functioning of the society. In addition, the Directors may be asked by the Executive Committee to lead specific committees, subcommittees, task forces, councils, or special projects. Attendance at all Board meetings is expected. Elected members of the SNACC Board of Directors have significant responsibilities, and potential candidates must have time to make this commitment to the Society and the specialty. The responsibilities of Directors-at-large are outlined in detail in SNACC bylaws. At least three years of active membership of SNACC in good standing is a prerequisite for election to the Board of Directors. Nominees must demonstrate a track record of service to SNACC (such as active participation and/or leadership in SNACC committees/councils/task forces, active contributions to the newsletter, the Journal of Neurosurgical Anesthesiology, and participation in the Annual Meeting program), dedication to the values of SNACC and its mission, and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Self-nominations are accepted for this post. Alternatively, active, dues paid members of the Society can nominate another member The committee will pursue consent from the nominee before considering their candidacy.
