Our mission here at the SGVCC is to develop and transform urban youth in the San Gabriel Valley by providing academic, vocational, and leadership development through employment that provides valuable services to improve our communities and the natural environment!
Who are we?
We are a non-profit organization that provides paid job training for youth in the San Gabriel Valley and Pomona Valley. We also offer the ability to receive a high school diploma for those who need one through our partnership with Youthbuild charter school.
What is a corpsmember?
Being an SGVCC corpsmember includes working in a variety of projects throughout the community included but not limited to tree watering/planting, trail maintenance, fire fuel reduction, graffiti removal, and overall city beautification throughout the San Gabriel and Pomona Valley.
What kind of certifications am I able to receive?
We conduct Wilderness Survival trainings, and FREE certifications such as OSHA 10, First Aid/CPR, and more!
How old do I have to be?
SGVCC Job Training 18-26 years old
Advancing in Agriculture, Recreation, and Conservation (AARC) 18-25 years old
YouthBuild Charter School 16-29 years old
Greenworks 18-26 years old (must reside in Pico Rivera)
Where are you located?
Our headquarters and YouthBuild Charter School partner are in El Monte.
What does the schedule look like?
We are flexible, part-time, and usually Monday-Friday from 7am-3:30pm.
