After visiting Maine during childhood summers, writer and children’s author E.B. White eventually settled in Brooklin, Maine. On the 124th anniversary of E.B. White’s birth, join the Penobscot Marine Museum and Carver Memorial Library for an afternoon celebrating the author. Visit the FAINT ENDEAVOR, a sailing dinghy once owned by White, and enjoy Penobscot Marine Museum’s new exhibits about the quintessential Maine boats, peapods. From 3pm to 5pm, enjoy special children’s activities and participate in reading excerpts from “Charlotte’s Web.” Then from 5pm-6:30pm, listen to fans read their favorite E. B. White passages, from his New Yorker days to his classic children’s tales. Bring your own favorite reading and a picnic dinner and join in the fun!
