POSITION DESCRIPTION
TITLE OF POSITION: Career Preparation Specialists
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Mission Services Director
DATE: 04/20/2023
STATUS: Non-Exempt
FUNCTION: To assist the Mission Services Director in conducting assessments, training classes, writing and approving resumes, assisting in job search activities and monitoring consumers while in the computer lab.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
I. Monitor and supervise consumers while in the computer lab
2. Assist with the preparation of accurate and well-presented resumes for consumers
3. Appraise competency of trainees through testing and evaluation procedures
4. Assist consumers in job searching activities, including keeping up to date on job leads
5. Manage and record consumer training
6. Assist in the identification of computer training and tutoring needs for employees and consumers
7. Teach computer classes
8. When needed, provide GED tutoring for consumers and employees
9. Serve as back up trainer for other consumer and employee training sessions
10. Assist the Mission Services Director in the periodic review of training materials for consumers
11. Coordinate training and progress of students with Corporate Trainer, WFD and Mission Services Director
12. Communicates consumer issues to Case Managers
13. Prepares and updates required reports
14. Backup OMJ Lab as needed
15. Helps Human Resources as needed
16. Other duties as assigned by the Mission Services Director

1. Maintains a good working relationship and provide excellent customer service to all consumers, staff, customers and supervisors
2. Has respect for the feelings of others, is courteous and possesses the ability to build effective internal and external relationships
3. Complies with all established work rules, policies, procedures and safety rules4. Represents the organization in a professional and courteous manner
5. Is able to educate stakeholders and community about the entire agency
REQUIREMENTS
Positions Supervised: None
Education:Must have High School diploma or GED
Experience: a minimum of 3 - 5 years in management or training field
Certification: None
Other Requirements:
License Check - valid driver's license and proof of insurability or is able to provide transportation.
Background Checks - The offer of employment will be based on the outcome of the background check
Drug and Alcohol Screen - Must pass a drug and alcohol screen prior to employment. Subject to random testing.
