CSYO Audition Application
Audition applications for the 2025-2026 CSYO season are now open.

Applications must be received by 5:00 PM on Friday, August 8, to guarantee an audition time.

Applications will not be processed until the non-refundable audition fee has been submitted. Once your form and fee have been received you will be emailed an audition date and time. In the meantime, you can access all excerpts, audition requirements, and answers to frequently asked questions from our website.

Demographic Information

The CSO and Pops submit grant proposals to a variety of philanthropic organizations. As a part of these funding requests, we are asked to provide information—including demographic data—about the participants who our programs serve.

Nouveau Program

The Nouveau Program is a free chamber music program that nurtures student musicians from backgrounds that are underrepresented in orchestral music. Members receive weekly coaching, perform throughout the season and participate in age-appropriate workshops. There is no audition but students play for coaches to determine chamber assignments.

Norman E. Johns Chair Award

This talent-based award is given annually to support African American and Hispanic/Latine and Native American students pursuing music. There is an additional audition for the Norman E. Johns award following acceptance into CSYO. The award is covers the cost of CSYO tuition for one season. The audition use the same excerpts as the CSYO audition.

Payment

There is a $40 non-refundable audition application fee. Payment must be made online or by check prior to audition. An audition time will be assigned once payment has been received.

Once you hit submit, you will be taken to the CSO online ticketing system; please follow the prompts. Please disregard the "September 1" date, this is a placeholder for our ticketing system; your audition date and time will be emailed to you once payment has been received. There are no additional fees and you may select "print at home" for delivery as there are no actual tickets for the audition.
You will receive an audition date and time once payment has been received. Checks should be made out to "Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestra" with "application fee" and student name in the memo line. Please mail checks to 1241 Elm Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202.
