JOB SUMMARY
The Shake Bar Attendant plays a vital role in delivering an exceptional member experience at Gold’s Gym Newburgh and Middletown. This team member is responsible for preparing and serving recovery shakes, selling healthy food products, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and providing outstanding customer service to all members and guests.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet all members and guests at the shake bar in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner.
- Prepare all shake recipes accurately, following established guidelines.
- Educate members about the benefits of recovery shakes and meal replacement options. (Training provided.)
- Assist members in choosing food product offerings such as protein bars and supplements.
- Accurately process cash and credit card transactions and manage the shake bar register with integrity.
- Promote and upsell shake bar products and upgrades as appropriate.
- Maintain a sparkling clean, organized, and fully stocked shake bar area throughout each shift.
- Complete daily checklists and submit to management at the end of each shift.
- Report product shortages, supply needs, or operational issues promptly to the manager.
- Ensure that the workstation is properly prepped and ready for the next shift.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-first mindset.
- Ability to learn and retain product knowledge and educate members confidently.
- Basic math and cash-handling skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- A positive attitude and team-oriented approach.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous customer service, food service, or sales experience is a plus but not required.
- On-the-job training provided.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
- Ability to stand and walk throughout the facility for extended periods.
- Occasional bending, reaching, and lifting up to 20 pounds.
- Work in a gym environment with varying noise levels.
- Schedule includes weekends, evenings, and some holidays.
- Part-time and full-time positions available; flexibility required.
