  • Want to learn how to be a drag performer? 

    Youth Pride's Kings, Queens and Holy Things is a FREE crash course in drag that will get you main stage ready in 5 weeks. Hosted by Drag Kings of MCR and supported by Youth Pride, this course is for anyone between 14-18 who lives in Greater Manchester who's wanted to try drag but doesn't know where to start!

    We are offering 5 crash course sessions that will take you from a complete beginner to main stage ready. For members of Kings, Queens and Holy Things you'll also have a chance to perform at Youth Pride MCR 2023! 

     

    Introduction  - Wednesday 19th July 6-8pm 

    Dress Up & Make Up - Wednesday 26th July 6-8pm 

    Persona - Sunday 6th August 6-8pm 

    Routine Building - Saturday 12th August 6-8pm 

    Rehearsal and Performance Skills  - Saturday 19th August 6-8pm

    You also might have to be available on Sunday the 27th of August for Youth Pride MCR at the Manchester Pride Festival! 

     

    Kings, Queens and Holy Things is for anyone who wants to be a drag king, queen, performer or anything inbetween regardless of gender or sexuality. We aim to promote and encourage an authentic performance, whatever that looks like for you. 

    Travel burseries of up to £5 are available if you provide proof of travel. 

     

    Please note: To take part in Kings, Queens and Holy things you must be a membr of Youth Pride. It's free to become a member and the sign-up form can be found HERE. 

     

     

  • In order to get the most from these workshops, we ask that you commit to as many as possible. Please double check that you can attend the following workshops: 

     

    Wednesday 19th July 6-8pm 

    Wednesday 26th July 6-8pm 

    Sunday 6th August 1-3pm

    Saturday 12th August 1-3pm

    Saturday 19th August 1-3pm

     

    You will also need to be available for the Youth Pride Festival performance on Sunday 27th August 2023. 

     If you are going to miss a workshop due to a preplanned event, please let us know when applying/as soon as possible.
