    Please carefully read each paragraph as you approve it unpredictable and dangerous. realize that placing my children, or myself in a stable environment is creating a hazardous situation. I understand that riding horses or ponies is a dangerous sport. I am aware that riders must expect to be injured from time to time. I understand that death of people from equestrian accidents is possible. I realize that professional instruction cannot prevent serious injury or death from working around, handling, or riding horses and ponies. I understand that riding, jumping, handling horses or ponies is a particularly dangerous activity and that serious injury or death of riders or horses is possible. I am aware that serious injury or death of my mount is possible when it is handled, trained, or in a lesson. I release J.J’s Equestrian Academy, its owners, trainers, employees, and associates from all liability for damage to my property, injuries or death of my children, my animals, or myself. J.J’s Equestrian Academy (all locations), its owners, employees, and associates, have my permission to initiate emergency first aid treatment for my children, my animals, and myself in case of an accident.

  • They also have my permission to authorize emergency medical treatment by qualified medical personnel for my children or myself, and veterinary treatment by qualified veterinary personnel for my animals.

    I understand that I am fully responsible for any guests that Imay have on the property. I understand that I am fully responsible for fully informing the guest of all risks related to the handling or riding of horses. I understand that I am fully responsible for informing guests about the horse's temperament, training, habits, and for determining that the guest is sufficiently experienced to ride the horse.

    Anyone under the age of 18 is required to wear a helmet when riding, you will be asked to leave if you fail to do so.

    It is recommended that all riders wear a helmet!

    I realize that any lesson packages I buy are non refundable, but could be transferred as a credit in the form of a gift certificate, unless a doctor's note is provided. My lesson must be cancelled within 24 hours or I forfeit it. I am limited to 2 makeups per term. If J.J's cancels, it will not count towards my two makeups per session. I am responsible for making up my lessons.

    ALL MAKEUPS must be made up no later than two weeks after the current term has ended. There will be NO "rollovers" of lessons, unless there are extenuating (and previously agreed upon) circumstances.

    RELEASE: In consideration of my being allowed to participate in any way in J.J's Equestrian Academy (all locations) programs, related events and activities, I hereby release and covenant not-to-sue Jill Scottston, J.J's Equestrian Academy (all locations) and any of their employees, instructors or agents, volunteers from any and all present and future claims resulting from ordinary negligence on the part of J.J's Equestrian Academy (all locations) or others listed for property damage, personal injury or wrongful death, arising as a result of my engaging in or receiving instruction at J.J's Equestrian Academy (all locations), Jill Scottston's programs and activities incidental thereto, wherever, whenever or however the same may occur. I hereby voluntarily waive any and all claims resulting from ordinary negligence, both present and future, that may be made by me, my family, estate, heirs or assigns. I have carefully read each paragraph listed above and understand its contents.

    I affirm that I am freely signing this agreement. I have read this form and fully understand that by signing this form, I am giving up legal rights and/or remedies which may be available to me.

    PHOTOGRAPHY/PROMOTIONAL POLICY

    I give J.J's Equestrian Academy (all locations) Jill Scottston or its designee the irrevocable right to take and use my name, picture, likeness, photograph, film, videotape, interviews and/or verbal statement in all forms and media and in all manners for any advertising, promotional, Internet (website, webcasting and broadband broadcasting TV and/or publicity purposes. I waive any rights I may have in connection with any use of the material, including any right to inspect or approve the finished use, including any written copy that may be created in connection with such use.

    SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY

    We do film and use horses, riding, and everything that happens on the property for online content. We do have security cameras going at times as well.Social Media is an everyday tool for most of us. It can be used for good and evil. Please keep in mind that we monitor our social media as well as our clients, in reference to our business and horses in our care. Please be thoughtful when posting, tagging, commenting, and reviewing our business, only post things that follow these guidelines. We will take action against bullying, slander, etc, especially in reference to our clients, horses, and other people in or about our program from the date on this agreement and going forward indefinitely.
