Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Grant Application

This grant, sponsored by the NDLA EDI Committee, provides funding for efforts to promote equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives in North Dakota. The grant may be used for conference funding, increasing diversity in library collections, conducting diversity audits, hosting training for library staff on EDI, hosting library programming or speakers, or participation in any other work that may benefit equity, diversity, and inclusion in the library community of North Dakota. Applicants must have been active members of NDLA for a period of at least one year. Grant recipients must agree to the publication of an evaluative report of how they used their grant funds in The Good Stuff. Application deadline is December 27, 2025. Applications will be assessed against our EDI Grant Rubric.

Write 500-750 words describing how you would like to spend the grant funds and how this would benefit equity, diversity, and inclusion in the library community of North Dakota. Please include dates or an intended timeline as well as how success in your initiative will be assessed. Preference will be given to projects that will be completed by August 2026.*

Please note that this grant may not be used to cover ongoing operating expenses such as staff hours during training. It can, however, be used to pay a honorarium to bring in a trainer or speaker, or for related expenses such as providing refreshments during a program.

Please note funding is limited to $600. Programs with a higher total budget will receive partial funding.

The funds of this grant will be distributed as reimbursement for expenses. However, if that would create undue financial burden NDLA will consider advance funding on a case-by-case basis. Does your proposal need to be considered for advance funding? Please explain.
