  • Genie+ and Lighting Lane:

    * Genie+ is a paid add-on to the free Genie service and is available for use at Walt Disney World. It gives more guests front-of-the-line access to experience high-traffic attractions and shows, like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade.

    * The Lightning Lane is the skip the line queue, which replaced the old FastPass queue.

    * On average, Guests can enter 2 to 3 attractions or experiences per day using Lightning Lane entrances, if the first selection is made early in the day. You can enjoy a Disney Genie+ service Lightning Lane entrance once per day.

    * Genie Plus is certainly a more all-inclusive way to get through the parks. But when it comes to specific in-demand attractions, Genie Plus might let you down. If you want the absolute best experience, we recommend using a combination of Genie Plus and the Individual Lightning Lanes.

    * It's important to note that the Disney Lightning Lane and Genie Plus service are not one in the same. The Lightning Lane is the skip the line queue which replaced the old FastPass queue, while the Disney Genie Plus is the actual paid service which will allow you to choose a return time to enter the Lightning Lane.

    * Is Lightning Lane worth it?
It may not be worth it because the cost will add up, especially for Individual Lightning Lanes because of their high price. Although, it can be worth it if you want to get the most out of your Disney World trip and see and experience as much the park can offer as possible.

  • Magic Bands and Magic Band+:

    * MagicBands are handy-dandy waterproof wristbands with a touch point sensor inside that's linked to your My Disney Experience account. You can use them to make charges to your Resort hotel room, pay for dining and souvenirs, link PhotoPass photos, unlock your Resort room's door and more..

     * The biggest differences between MagicBand+ and a regular MagicBand are: Pricing. MagicBand+ features park interactions. You have to charge the battery for MagicBand+ unlike a regular MagicBand.

  • Memory Maker:

Disney’s photo package (aka Memory Maker) is worth it, especially since they offer a marginal discount if you book it ahead of your trip. There are PhotoPass photographers stationed all over the parks and around many popular landmarks, giving you the opportunity to get those highly sought-after family photos professionally captured. Plus, they often add cute effects to the photos (which download straight into your MDE account).  Memory Maker also includes ride photos, which for us was worth it in itself. Who doesn’t want a permanent reminder of exactly what their face looked like the moment the elevator dropped on Tower of Terror??
