VOLUNTEER APPLICATION FORM
The Cairns Indigenous Art Fair (CIAF) 2025 is the quintessential celebration of the art and culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of Queensland, held over four days from the (NO DATES SET YET). We kick off the celebration by simultaneously launching the Art Market & Art Fair during the Opening Night Party at Cairns Convention Centre. CIAF has an exciting program including popular favorites such as the Fashion Performance, Symposium, Public Programming, vibrant music performances, artist conversations, and a Closing Ceremony.

Volunteers are important to the success and delivery of CIAF each year. We need people who want to join us in celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander arts and culture and love to be involved in a large event/festival to enrich the experience of CIAF audiences.

CIAF volunteers include both skilled and individuals who are wanting experience to put on their resume or a love of learning in the following areas:

CIAF GENERAL

·       Handing out programs to visitors

·       Counting people at entry points to ascertain numbers

·       Assisting in keeping the site clean and tidy

·       Assisting with moving chairs & setting up areas as required

·       General customer service duties

·       Assisting at artist workshops

· Assist with survey data collection

· Assist with ushering at various venues

· Assisting the stage manager

· Assist with public programming workshops and activities e.g. artist workshops, and masterclasses

SPECIFIC VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

. Children's Program Assistant: volunteer assistants will be working under the management of a Children's Program leader (please note these positions require you to have experience working or supporting children ie parent, grandparent, teacher, childcare educator etc).

· Elders Lounge Assistant: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander volunteers are needed to tend to the comfort of Elders by ensuring the space remains welcoming including making tea and coffee.

CIAF FASHION EVENT

·       Assisting in keeping the site clean and tidy

·       Assisting with moving chairs/setting up areas as required

· Assist "Back of House" dressers e.g. assist models etc

Applications will be assessed and eligibility will be at the discretion of the CIAF management.
