Vocationists: Please Read
The Vocationists' rate for membership in the TaikoVentures Hui is $12/year.
Definition of a vocationist: Someone who is reliant on the taiko economy. It is someone who needs the taiko economy to succeed in order to pursue their chosen career path. Vocationists are not limited to performers or instructors; organizers, administrators, and vendors are also vocationists.
NOTE: We don't count support from family or partners. They are subsidizing the taiko economy.
We acknowledge that supplemental income from outside the Taiko Economy is often necessary to survive. At this time we are relying on the honor system for you to declare yourself as a Taiko Vocationist. There is no formal application process, however in the future, we anticipate conducting in-depth surveys of our vocationists that ask about work activities and income sources. This type of information is key to advancing the mission of TaikoVentures.
We definitely want to encourage more people to become vocationists, but currently our resources are limited. If you are still "on the fence" and pursuing a career outside of the Taiko Economy, we would love your help in creating this system for those who have already "taken the leap" and need the economy to succeed. Basically, if you are happy being a "side gigger" you are not a vocationist.
Likewise, vocationists who think you can afford the $10/month -- please do not declare yourself a non-vocationist on this form just so you can pay the money. It messes up the database!
If you are not sure which way to go, please email Sue at sue@taikoventures.com.
Thanks for your understanding.
