Recommended Requirements for Community Division Ballet Registration
Important reminder: These classes are recommended and not required.
However, dancers who wish to perform in the Winter or the Spring DanceFest ballet pieces must be in ALL recommended ballet classes and ballet repertory classes. Dancers aspiring to join the prepro division should be in all recommended classes.
Ballet PrePrimary (Ages 3 & 4)
1 Ballet/Tap Class: 1hr
Ballet Primary ( Ages 5 & 6)
1 Ballet Technique Class: 1hr
Other class options:
Primary Tap: 30min
Optional Saturday rehearsal for Winter/Spring shows
Ballet Level 1A & 1B (Approximately Ages 7 and up)
1 Ballet Technique Class: 1hr
Other class options:
Beginner Contemporary: 1 hr
Beginner Jazz: 1hr
Tap 1: 1hr
Optional Saturday rehearsal for Winter/Spring shows
Ballet Level 2 (Approximately ages 9 and up)
2 Ballet Technique CLasses: 1.5 hr
Level 2 repertoire (if choosing to perform in Winter or Spring Shows)
OR
1 Ballet Technique Class
Beginner Jazz or Beg/Int Contemporary
Level 2 repertory (if choosing to perform in Winter or Spring Shows)
Other class options:
Beginner Jazz: 1hr
Beg/Int Contemporary: 1hr
Tap 1 or Tap 2: 1hr
Ballet Level 3 (Approximately ages 10 and up) Dancers should expect to spend two or three years in Level 3. Dancers aspiring to join the Preprofessional Division should take all recommended classes.
Choosing to participate en pointe
3 Ballet Technique Classes: 1.5 hr
1 Pre Pointe class per week: 30min
Level 3 repertoire (if choosing to perform in Winter or Spring Shows)
Choosing NOT to participate en pointe
2 Ballet Technique Classes: 1.5hr
Level 3 repertoire (if choosing to perform in Winter or Spring shows)
Other class options:
Beginner Jazz 1 hr
Beg/Int Contemporary 1 hr Tap
Ballet Level 4a (Approximately ages 12 and up) Dancers aspiring to join the Preprofessional Division should take all recommended classes.
3 Ballet Technique: 1.5 hr each
1 pointe classes per week (voluntary) 1hr
Level 4a repertoire (if choosing to perform in Winter or Spring Shows)
Other class options:
Int/Adv jazz: 1hr
Int/Adv contemporary 1 hr. Tap
Ballet Level 4b (Approximately ages 13 and up) Dancers aspiring to join the Preprofessional Division should take all recommended classes.
3 Ballet Technique Classes, 1.5 hr
2 pointe classes per week (voluntary) 1hr
Level 4b repertoire class (if choosing to perform in Winter or Spring Shows)
