This seminar adopts a student-led, inquiry-based approach, guided by the instructor. It focuses on discussions around the book "Afrikan-Centered Consciousness Versus the New World Order: Garveyism in the Age." While Western educators label this approach a 'Socratic Seminar' in honor of Socrates, we recognize its African origins and term it a Tehuti Talk.
The aim is not limited to passive absorption of information from an authoritative figure. Instead, we focus on nurturing your comprehension by encouraging you to express your thoughts through critical thinking and collaborative exploration of ideas. We will engage actively in thought-provoking conversations, thereby enhancing a collective understanding of the text.
Please download our Tehuti Talk Guidelines. READ the guide well before the class begins.
