With our signatures below, we acknowledge that the role of the advisor has been discussed along with the needs of the applicant, and we have agreed to work together according to the STA/ISST Certified Member requirements. The advisor agrees to be familiar with the duties of advisors, as described in Chapter 5 of the STA Handbook.
Role of the Advisor
- Checks in with advisee every 6 months to review progress; advisor may wish to use Form E&T (ISST Appendix D) to track progress.
- Reviews requirements and application procedure with applicant.
- Provides guidance on the choice of topic, structure, and requirements for the initial papers.
- Provides guidance on choice of case, structure, and requirements of final case paper.
- Assists with the selection of initial paper and final case readers.
Acts as primary liaison between the applicant, STA, and final case readers.
- Reviews the application to make sure all requirements are met and documentation has been provided prior to submission.
- Maintains confidential records of correspondence during the advisory process, and, in case of non-acceptance, for five (5) years afterward.
The advisor is paid a $100 fee by the Certified Member applicant or Registered Sandplay Practitioner applicant at the time this agreement is signed. A copy of this agreement will accompany the CST or RSP application.
If the applicant wishes to change advisors, then the applicant will sign a new agreement with the new advisor and pay the new advisor $100.
