Celebrating 25 years of The Clay and Glass Show!

We are busy planning a wonderful weekend event.

This year's jurors are Angelo di Petta and Adeline La, The Gardiner Museum Shop Manager. 

 

The show is open to all FUSION members. If you would like to apply but are not yet a FUSION member, please join online and then submit your application as all registrants will be verified. Thank you.  

The EARLY BIRD rates are valid to August 15 at 5 pm.

Applications close on September 15 at 5 pm.

If you are new to the Clay and Glass show and did not participate last year, you will be informed by email if you have been selected by September 20.

If you were in the 2022 show, you are automatically accepted this year. We do ask you to please complete the form with images of new work and indicate the size of booth space you would like. You will be invoiced for the booth fee. We are excited to welcome you back!

As you know, this is a very popular event that is run by artist volunteers. We thank eveyone for their support and invite you to help with marketing, party planning, demos and set-up if you can. THANK YOU! 

 

RATES:

3' x 6' space: $250 plus HST

6' x 6' space: $400 plus HST

Rates increase by $50 per space after August 15.

All applications are due by September 15, 2023.

TIMELINE

Friday, October 20

12-5 p.m.:Set up 

6 p.m. - 9 p.m.:   FUSION's PARTY! Invite family and friends and let's kick off the weekend in style! Awards will be announced on Friday night.

 
Saturday, October 21

9 - 6 p.m.: Open to the public 

6 - 9 p.m.:  Possible private event 

 
Sunday, October 22

11 a.m. - 5 p.m.: Open to the public

5 - 7 p.m.: Show take down 

 

• All Clay and Glass Show artists are automatically entered into CONNECT ONLINE that is displayed on the giant screen throughout the weekend and on the FUSION website
• All artists will receive customized marketing materials to post on their social media accounts and share through their networks.
• All artists are invited to welcome family and friends to the Friday night kick-off party at Wychwood Barns

IMAGE SPECIFICATIONS and LABELLING 

Please submit 10 high quality JPEG images suitable for publication

Save the image in the correct orientation.

Photograph work against a neutral background that is not textured. 

Use the following file name format to name your files:
IMAGE #1: XXX1.jpg

Where: XXX = your initials

For example: Joe Smith: JSM1.jpg

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

GENERAL

You must be a FUSION member in good standing at the time of your application and when the show takes place. 

All new applications will be juried and acceptance into the show will be based solely on the images submitted. 

THE WORK

Applicants must submit ten digital images representative of the work you will be selling.

All images must conform to the specifications set out in the application.

Work must be that of the participating artist.

Mixed-media work: the predominant feature must be clay or glass produced by the artist.

No lead or cadmium may be used on any food surfaces.

The artist must ensure that all functional ware intended for use with food or drink is food-safe.

Any electric lamps for sale must fully comply with all current Canadian Standards Association & Electrical Safety Authority certification and inspection.

While FUSION is insured for public liability, FUSION is NOT RESPONSIBLE for any lost or damaged pieces. All items for sale are the responsibility of the participant.

COMMISSION

FUSION retains 15% commission plus credit card fees prorated based on sales.

Artist payments will be sent electronically within 30 days of the sale.

WITHDRAWL

If you are juried into the show, the deadline for withdrawing is October 1, 2023, 5 pm. Your booth fee will be refunded, less a $100 + HST processing fee. Please notify FUSION in writing by October 1, 2023 if you will be withdrawing. If you withdraw after October 2, 2023 your fees are completely non-refundable.

DISPLAYS

Displays should be clean, uncluttered, and exhibit your work with a level of professionalism. Booths should not have fixed walls and are open on all sides.  

PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL AND SUPPORT

FUSION will provide all wrapping and marketing for the event. Artists are asked to take shifts at the cash area to help process and pack work sold. We also ask artists to use their own social media and email channels to help promote the show.

FUSION reserves the right to use the images and promotional material submitted by exhibitors and any photographs taken at the show for promotional purposes without notice or payment to the exhibitor.

To maintain the integrity of the show, signs offering pricing discounts, reduced prices, show specials or other signs of this nature are not permitted.

I warrant that the artworks submitted in the application are solely by me named on the application. I also authorize the use of images for publicity or documentation without notice or payment to me.
