    Selection Process for SCC Booth:

    • Applicants must be a juried Professional Craftsperson or juried Affiliated Marketer member of the SCC in good standing when submitting an application for Art Now 2025.
    • SCC Member Services and Exhibitions staff will select featured work for Art Now 2025
    • Multiple pieces may be selected from each artist.
    • Preference will be given to recently created works not previously shown at past Art Now events.
    • Please do not include works that are submitted to concurrent events.
    • Selections are based on many factors including, but not limited to, the variety of media; capacity; and ease of installation.
    • While the SCC will attempt to include as many pieces as possible from a wide variety of artists, we reserve the right to select work that is most appropriate for the event.
    • Artists will be notified of application results by mid-July 2025.

    Parameters:

    • All pieces must be for sale.
    • Each artist can submit up to five works for consideration.
    • Art Now is a sales event, not an exhibition. Artist royalties will not be paid.
    • In addition to featuring work on-site, works will also be shown on our Online Store as well as Art Now's official website.
    • All sales will be managed and processed by the SCC, with the SCC retaining a commission of 40%. Payments to artists will be made via cheque within 60 days of the sale.
    • Works accepted must be ready to install with clear instructions and packaged appropriately for sale (e.g. packaged safely in clean packing material).
    • The SCC will provide installation, insurance, promotion, documentation, and compensation for shipping.
    • Further details will be described in a project contract that will be sent to selected Art Now participants.
  • The Saskatchewan Craft Council encourages creative freedom and respectful collaboration. CARFAC has outlined the principles of responsible creative collaboration with Indigenous and other cultures:

    1. Free prior and informed consent;

    2. Shared control over process and product;

    3. Acknowledgement and attribution;

    4. Respect for cultural differences; and

    5. Reciprocity and benefit sharing.

    It is expected that all applications for projects with the SCC meet these standards in the creation and sale of artwork. More information on CARFAC’s appropriation guide can be found here.
