Traditional Knowledge Holder Award: This award recognises an Elder from the Aboriginal community who has demonstrated exceptional knowledge and wisdom in preserving, promoting, and passing down traditional cultural practices, teachings and ceremonies.
Healing & Wellness Award: This award recognises an Elder who has made significant contributions to the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being of the Aboriginal community through traditional healing practices, arts & crafts, counselling, dance, music or other forms of wellness support.
Community Leader & Intergenerational Mentorship Award: This award honours an Elder who has shown exemplary leadership skills and has actively contributed to the betterment of the Aboriginal community through advocacy, guidance, and support for community members. They have also actively mentored and guided younger generations in the Aboriginal community, passing down traditional knowledge, cultural values, and life skills, fostering inter-generational connections and promoting cultural continuity.
Reconciliation & Social Justice Award: This award honours an Elder who has been a strong advocate for social justice, equity, and reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities, promoting understanding, healing, and positive relationships.
