  • MISSION AND RULES OF CONDUCT

  • MISSION

Asher Student Foundation (ASF) supports and nurtures the daily practice of Christian Science by providing residential housing for Christian Scientists of all ages, including: current students and student interns enrolled in accredited graduate, undergraduate, degree and certificate programs; Christian Science nurse trainees and individuals taking Christian Science Class Instruction; and students transitioning from school to career. Additionally, ASF hosts and sponsors a variety of Christian Science organizations, speakers and activities that may include overnight housing for Christian Science participants.

  • RULES OF CONDUCT

    1. Attend and support the activities of the local Christian Science branch church and CSO on a regular basis, study the Christian Science Weekly Bible Lesson consistently, and strive to grow in understanding Christian Science and to be a better healer.

    2. Support the Asher House Manager in maintaining clean, orderly daily operations as well as the spiritual atmosphere of the house.

    3. Work and live harmoniously with fellow residents, using the Golden Rule as a guide.

    4. Adhere to the spirit of the Matthew Code (Matt 18:15-17): in the event of a conflict speak directly to the other person and, if there is no response, ask for help or support from the House Manager. The goal is healing and reconciliation.

    5. Support and participate in Asher House and community service (“Asher-in-Action”) activities.

    6. Abstain from the use of alcohol, tobacco, drugs, profanity, gambling, premarital sex and cohabitation during the term of your resident agreement with Asher Student Foundation.

    7. Never harass or discriminate against any other resident or ASF personnel, and report immediately to the House Manager any incident of harassment or discrimination which you witness or learn of.

    8. When using the internet, via the Wi-Fi provided by ASF or otherwise, do not access, download, or forward pornographic material, and do not download, disseminate or forward violent, sexist, racist, abusive, or other inappropriate messages or media.

    9. Adhere to the policy that all persons with or without ASF affiliation are strictly prohibited from storing, keeping, maintaining or bringing onto the Asher House premises any firearms, explosives, fireworks, or dangerous weapons in any capacity.
