Comments on TTB Information Collection

TTB has requested comment from the industry on OMB Control No. 1513–0041 about the monthly reports each DSP files so that TTB can use the collected information to ensure proper tax collection. TTB also aggregates the collected information to produce generalized distilled spirits statistical reports for public release. Most craft distilleries would agree just how cumbersome and mismatched to the reality of their operations the current reporting structure is. We are looking specifically for information that will allow us to enlighten TTB on the real burden these reports are to craft spirits producers, both in time and money. The information we collect will help us provide data supporting our position in support of added simplicity.

TTB indicated in its request for comments that it would begin a pilot program to test streamlined operations reporting.
