2025 NAMC UNSUNG HERO AWARD NOMINATION FORM

This award recognizes the exemplary accomplishments and contributions of individuals working in the nonprofit sector to effect positive change in our community.

You must use this form to submit a nomination. You may enter more than one nomination, but you must use a separate form for each.

We will not notify the nominee who nominated them, but YOU may choose to do so.

DEADLINE: Friday, September 19, 2025 by 5:00 pm.

FAQs:

Q: Can I self-nominate? A: Yes.

Q: Can a person be nominated for more than one category? A: Yes, but separate applications must be completed for each category.

Q: Are previous winners eligible to be nominated? A: Yes. However, previous award winners are only eligible to be selected after three years have passed since they received the award. This applies to all categories.

Q: Can the nominee for Unsung Hero be a volunteer? A: Yes.

Q: Is the organization eligible if they are headquartered outside of Monterey County but are doing work within Monterey County? A: Yes.

Q. Are we required to submit a photo and video clip to be considered? A. Yes

Q: Can organizations email NAMC with additional materials for consideration? A: No.

Q: Do I or the nominee have to be a member of NAMC to nominate/qualify? A: No. All registered 501(c)3 organizations in Monterey County are eligible.

Q: How are the awards judged? A. A panel of five nonprofit leaders including present and past NAMC board members review the submissions and select the finalists based on the criteria listed on each nomination form.

Q: What is the deadline? A: The deadline is Friday, September 19, 2025 by 5:00 pm.

Q: How are nominees and award recipients recognized? A: All nominees and award recipients will be recognized during a special slideshow. Additionally, award recipients will be called to the podium to receive an award and say a few words. This event will be attended by over 200 nonprofit and business leaders, as well as elected officials. There will also be press outreach and a social media campaign across the region.

Q: When did the awards begin? A: 2014

Q: Who can attend the Nonprofit Excellence Awards? A: Everyone! (There are discounts for NAMC members.)
