  • What is Alpha?

    Life is busy. Every day we ask questions like: “What’s the weather today?”, “What should I wear?” Then there are bigger questions like: “What’s my purpose?”, “Where am I heading?”, “Is there more to life than this?”. These are some of life’s BIG questions. But there’s rarely enough time to think them through. That’s why Alpha exists. Alpha is a place to explore life’s big questions in a safe and open environment. It’s a series of sessions, where anyone can share their thoughts and opinions. and ask questions — without feeling judged.

  • When you come to an Alpha...

    ... you'll be taking a step towards being part of a community. Whether the Alpha cycle is conducted online or onsite, you will have the opportunity to get to know us and get to know others in a casual setting. Onsite sessions also includes time to mingle over food. In each session you'll be shown an ALPHA video (Chinese or English series) that explores big issues around faith from a Christian perspective. After the video there’s time for conversations about what is in the video. These conversations are the most essential part of Alpha - allowing everyone to share their personal takes on the ideas presented. This is a time for people with different thoughts, beliefs and experiences to ask honest questions and have open conversation.

  • Alpha is for everyone...

    ...regardless of background or beliefs, there’s no pressure, no follow-up and is completely free to attend. Come explore life’s big questions with us here at Church of Our Saviour!

    CYCLE 2: Chinese Alpha Film Series, with English subtitles, with Conversations in English (Online & in COOS) - starts 19 March Thursdays at 8:00pm,  (10 weeks)_[A]

     

    CYCLE 3: English Alpha Film Series (Online) with Conversations in English - starts 27 March Fridays at 8:00pm; or 28 March Saturdays at 10:00am; or 29 March Sundays at 4:00pm (13 weeks)_[A]

     

    CYCLE 4: Chinese Alpha Film Series (in COOS) with Conversations in English - starts 3 July Fridays at 10:00am (11 weeks)_[A]

     

    CYCLE 5: English Alpha Film Series (Online) with Conversations in English - starts 17 July Fridays at 8:00pm; or 18 July Saturdays at 10:00am; or 19 July Sundays at 4:00pm (13 weeks)_[A]

     

    CYCLE 6: Chinese Alpha Film Series, with English subtitles, with Conversations in English (in COOS) - starts 17 July Fridays at 7:30pm (10 weeks)_[B]


    CYCLE 7: Chinese Alpha Film Series, with English subtitles, with Conversations in English & Chinese (Online) - starts 6 August Thursdays at 8:00pm (12 weeks)_[C]


    CYCLE 8: English Alpha Film Series (Online) with Conversations in English - starts 30 October Fridays 8:00pm, or 31 October Saturdays 10:00am; or 1 November Sundays 4:00pm (13 weeks)_[A]
