  • The Approved Employers involved in this application acknowledge by their signatures to this document that they have read and are aware of the following provisions involved in this loan arrangement.

     

    1. Unless otherwise agreed to in writing, it shall be the responsibility of the approved employer to whom the Apprentice Jockey/Probationer is loaned, to ensure that the Apprentice Jockey/Probationer is paid, cared for and supervised in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding – Approved Employer and the Agreement or Apprenticeship (being the individual employment agreement entered into between the original approved employer and the Apprentice Jockey/Probationer) and
      current rules and directives.
    2. That the parents/guardian of the Apprentice Jockey/Probationer has been made aware of the details of this loan application by
      the approved employer to whom the Apprentice Jockey/Probationer is indentured.
    3. That on the expiration of the loan term, the Apprentice Jockey/Probationer shall immediately return to the employer to whom indentured unless a further loan term has been applied for on the appropriate form or unless an agreement has been reached to transfer the Apprentice Jockey/Probationer.
    4. It is the responsibility of the loan employer to provide the Apprentice Jockey/Probationer with travel and gear, and ensure the
      Apprentice Jockey/Probationer attends apprentice school and has representation on race day during the tenure of this loan.
    5. No Apprentice Jockey/Probationer shall be employed in another approved employers stable whilst that apprentice is on annual
      leave.
  • The Parties agree:

    1. The Apprentice will be loaned to the Borrowing Trainer for the load period as set out in this agreement.

    Termination

    1. The Current and Borrowing Trainer may by mutual consent terminate this agreement.
    2. In the event the Borrowing Trainer is suspended, disqualified or warned off under the Rules of Racing, the loan will terminate on that date the sanction is imposed and the Apprentice will return to the current Trainer.

    Variation

    1. The terms of this agreement cannot be varied other than in writing and signed by all parties.  Any variation can only come into effect once all parties have signed,
  • Riding fees

  • That the approved employer and loan employer mutually agree to a split of the following percentages during the tenure of this loan.

  • International Apprentice Loan

    All earnings derived by the Apprentice during the term of the loan shall be paid into the NZTR Apprentice Jockey Fund Trust. Such earnings shall, subject to any fees, fines, or deductions lawfully imposed by NZTR, be disbursed at the conclusion of the loan term to the Apprentice or, alternatively, remitted directly to the original PRA trust account, as applicable.

  • Signatures

  • Although all the signatures below are necessary, NZTR acknowledges the potential logistical difficulties in obtaining them. The signature of the initial employer is mandatory upon submission, while NZTR will facilitate obtaining the remaining signatures.

  • Your will be notified of the outcome of your application by the NZTR Licensing Panel by email. 

     

    What if my application is denied ?

    You can appeal to the NZTR Racing & Integrity Committee within 28 days of when you were notified that your application has been declined.
