Gilroy Rodeo will offer 3 options for Hide Race:
- Friday August 9, 2024 at 6:15 p.m., must check-in by 5 p.m.
- Saturday August 10, 2024 at 5:15 p.m., must check-in by 4 p.m.
- Sunday, August 11, 2024 at 11:45 a.m., must check in by 10:30 a.m
One entry per team.
Use Contestant Entrance for parking.
Knives and Prize money awards to first place team. Additional placings may be awarded based on amount of teams entered. Top fastest time(s) over 3 days will determine winner(s).
Requirements:
- Paid entry form, fees are non-refundable.
- No late entries
- Must check-in at allocated times
- Must be at least age 16 and over at time of entry
- All riders wear western attire.
- Contestants may hang on however they choose.
- Flagger/Judge will start time upon crossing the starting line. Horse and rider will be required to pick up cowhide rider at the other end of arena. Cowhide rider MUST be on hide completely prior to passing the end barrel and ride on top of hide until the finish line when flagged or the team will be disqualfied.
- All judges decisions are final.
- Cowhide set up provided by Gilroy Rodeo to be used
- You are encouraged to bring and wear your own safety equipement such as goggles, chaps or helmet.
