A prerequisite to being awarded, a winning entry will be the signing of a Deed of Intellectual Property ('DIP') agreed upon between the author and the School over the intellectual property rights, including the allowable use of the song, moral rights and royalties. The School reserves the right to award the winning entry to a runner-up if a DIP cannot be agreed.

The winning composer must also confirm that the song is 100% an original work.
