At UURISE, we recognize that people come to us at all different stages of their life and with a variety of immigration statuses, often even within the same family. We also know that it can be confusing and intimidating to know what services and programs you are eligible for and that you can access without risk to your immigration status.
To address this, our team has worked to add more intentional resource coordination. With our CARE screening, we build on the strengths of resource and referral programs like 2-1-1 by helping individuals narrow down referrals to specific programs that are available to them regardless of their immigration status. The CARE screening will help us identify your current needs and how best to navigate meeting them, by:
- Connections / Conexiones
- To organizations, providers or programs that can help you meet your needs (housing, mental, health, etc.).
- Advocacy / Apoyo
- With you or on your behalf with a third party (school, governmental agency, etc.).
- Resource Navigation / Navegación de Recursos
- Referrals to resources you can access regardless of your immigration status (food distribution, affordable health care, low-income assistance programs, etc.).
- Emergency Safety Planning for Immigrants (ESPI) & Education / Planificación de Seguridad de Emergencia para Inmigrantes (ESPI) & Educación
- So that you are empowered with information about your rights, how to determine what services are available to you, and how to create a plan to prepare yourself and your family in the event of an emergency.
