Welcome to C9C's Day Training program!
Enrollment for our fall II 2023 session is now open!
Session groups run once weekly on Wednesdays or Sundays.
Our day training program is held at our training space within The Dog Dive (1613 Riverview Dr, Kalamazoo, MI 49004).
What's Included
🐾 Active, on the floor direct supervision all dogs throughout the entire day (2:1 minimum dog-handler ratio).
🐾 Pre- and post-session consultations to discuss your unique training goals (before session) and instruction to transfer training to home (after session).
🐾 Energy expended between trainingactivities, including trail walks, toy time, chews, sensory experiences, confidence building activities, and indoor off-leash romps.
🐾 Water will always be available to all dogs at all times, and you may send your dog with a "lunch" if they will need to eat, take medications, or anything else throughout the day training hours.
🐾 Multiple individual 1-on-1 training sessions for your dog with a trainer each day.
🐾 Report cards after each day which will include pictures, a written narrative, video instruction of your dog's training sessions, and "homework" to practice at home throughout the rest of the week.
🐾 Swims or water conditioning in the pool will be available as long as clients make arrangements with TheDogDive in advance, other DogDive customer swims are not already scheduled within Day Training timeframe, AND your dog has all signed waivers/forms on file with The Dog Dive, LLC.
🐾 Dog-dog playtime for practicing safe social skills, as dogs enjoy (play partners/groups will be assessed for suitability and comfort—dogs do not have to engage in interaction with other dogs though opportunity will be available for social-seeking dogs).
🐾 Leash walks on the paved trail directly behind the facility—parallel walks (with a buddy) or individual walks will be available depending on your dog's needs and training goals.
🐾 If the weather is nice and depending on the dynamics of dogs in group, field trip outings to Spring Valley Park.
🐾 Crate/separation work and naps available in separate, quiet rooms—dogs will be secured when not actively working and offered downtime to rest between sessions to prevent overstimulation and foster relaxation & coping skills to prevent distress or frustration in busy environments.
🐾 Use of positive-reinforcement based handling per the CCPDT's Standards of Practice & Code of Ethics and American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior's Position Statement on Humane Dog Training: we do not utilize aversive training tools or intentional use of punishment at any time while handling dogs.
The total cost of the day training program session is $799.
