Auckland regional regulations: (Where relevant)
I have read and understood the requirements in the Auckland Council Health & Hygiene Bylaw 2013, in particular the adjoining Code of Practice Part 7 on IPL & Lasers, and I understand the clinic's obligations under this bylaw are my responsibility if the clinic is within the Auckland region. Outside of this region, this is recognised as minimum best practice.
Certifications offered:
I understand that all staff requesting, and requiring practical training, will need to have completed appropriate theory training prior. If you are unsure what theory training is required, we can advise on this.
I understand that NZ Laser Training Institute Ltd will provide my clinic with certificates and that these certificates are issued to the person/s that attended the training only, and are not transferable to other staff. It is NZ Laser Training Institute’s understanding that these meet the requirement for Auckland Councils' request for ‘evidence of professional development in pulsed light/laser services’. These certificates will be provided electronically only. a 4 hour minimum training is required to gain certification.
Further education may be required:
I agree that clinic staff may require further, possibly more comprehensive training to ensure that they are fully trained in all aspects of laser science, troubleshooting, and clinical competency.
Declarations:
I understand that trainers from NZ Laser Training Institute are not able to provide specific treatment settings for the clinic's IPL or Laser device. This is due to each system producing varying levels of energy and therefore output, and the clinic should provide and follow the manufacturer’s guidelines or seek further information from the supplier of the IPL or Laser.
It is important that trainees who are undertaking on-site training are not being disturbed during their session, this includes not being booked to conduct treatments or answer the phone during the on-site training session. Please understand that this is for the safety and benefit of the clinic staff and enhances learning outcomes when distractions are reduced.
Trainers attempt to follow the proposed training plan as best and thoroughly, as time permits, however from time to time (usually due to lots of questions), more time might be required. Our commitment to you is to fit in as much quality training and information as possible, in the allotted training session/s.
Your responsibilities:
- Please ensure that any machine that you provide for us to use during training, is in full working order, with any manuals and/or tools available on request. If we are unable to train, due to lack of these, full travel costs and hours on-site will still apply.
- If postponement of training is required by either party, a minimum of 48 hours' notice is required.
- For cancellations on training conducted outside of Auckland, full travel costs will be retained by NZ Laser Training Institute and a 50% refund will be given on the training fee, and an alternative date set. New travel costs would then apply. Training costs do not change in the event of your staff not turning up or calling in sick on the training day.
- A quote/invoice for training services will be provided and this will need to be paid prior to the trainer arriving on-site. Bank details can be found on the invoice which will be emailed prior to the proposed training date being agreed upon.
Rates & options available:
- Customised consulting, theory training: face-to-face, zoom, or onsite training, is charged at an hourly rate of $180 + GST for a maximum of 4 trainees, or $230 + GST for 5+ trainees (if approved by us) the maximum trainees accepted in a group (especially for practical sessions) will be advised once we know what training is required by you.
- A minimum of 4 hours (or half day) is required for a booking. A full day is charged for over 4 hours – unless advised on a quote. Our daily rate fee is: $1200 + GST for an 8-hour full day of training (with a few short breaks).
- Travel fees will also be charged for training outside of Auckland – these may include airfare, airport parking, uber/taxi fee, and accommodation if required for overnight stays.
