I understand that I must meet with representatives of the City Clerk’s Office to receive instruction and information to carry out the petition process required by City Ordinance 18-47. Property owners of any lot(s), parcel(s) or tract(s) of land on any contiguous residential roadway(s) within the City of Port St. Lucie not served by street lighting may sign the petition for the installation of streetlights to be located in the boundary. Failure to acquire the mandatory 25% owner support, will cause the process to not move forward to an election. For successful street lighting areas, it is understood that the City Council will hold a public hearing annually and a Special Assessment Fee will be charged to each property owner on their annual tax bill. The current annual fee on the tax bill is $26.
