• Save Record Ridge Petition

We say NO to an open pit mine on Record Ridge. The site is 7.5 kilometers away from Rossland homes, schools and businesses, and 2 kilometers away from Paterson residential properties along highway 22 and Sheep Creek. There will be many negative health, environmental, social and economic impacts. 45 ton haul trucks will pass through downtown Rossland on average every 5 minutes, from 6am to 8pm, 7 days/week. This project will be of no benefit to the town. The Seven Summits Trail and tourism it brings to Rossland, the precious irreplaceable and unique grassland ecosystems and biodiversity, and watersheds on Record Ridge will be destroyed. This project is in no way shape or form sustainable, ecologically-minded nor to reduce carbon emissions and lower the carbon footprint of our community, the province of BC and the country.
