Please Review These Rules Of Play
1. Team Composition:
Each team will consist of 3 players with up to 1 substitute. No player can play for more than one team in the tournament.
2. Game Duration:
Each game in the first round will last for 10 minutes or until a team scores 15 points, whichever happens first. The subsequent rounds will be played until a team scores 21 points or for a duration of 15 minutes, whichever happens first.
3. First Round (Seeding Round):
The first round is designed to establish the seeding for the tournament. Every team will play every other team once. The winners of these games will be given points (3 points for a win, 1 point for a tie, 0 for a loss). The total points earned will determine the seeding for the following rounds.
4. Scoring:
Traditional basketball scoring rules apply: 1 point for a free throw, 2 points for a field goal, and 3 points for a shot made beyond the 3-point line.
5. Possession:
After a successful basket, the opposing team will take possession. After a missed shot, the first team that gains control of the ball will take possession.
6. Out of Bounds:
The ball is considered out of bounds if it touches the ground outside of the court or if it is touched by a player who is out of bounds. The opposing team will then take possession.
7. Fouls:
Personal fouls will be called by the referee. If a team commits 7 fouls in a game, every subsequent foul will result in the opposing team getting a free throw. If the foul was committed during a shot, the player who was fouled gets two free throws.
8. Timeouts:
Each team is allowed one 30-second timeout per game.
9. Tiebreakers:
If two or more teams have the same number of points at the end of the first round, the team that scored the most total points in their games will get the higher seed. If there is still a tie, it will be broken by a free throw contest.
10. Knockout Rounds:
After the seeding round, the tournament will proceed in a knockout format. The team with the highest seed will play the team with the lowest seed, the second-highest will play the second-lowest, and so on. The winners of these games will advance to the next round until a champion is crowned.
11. Championship Game:
The championship game will be played for 20 minutes or until a team scores 21 points, whichever happens first.
These rules aim to create a fun, fair, and competitive tournament. Let the best team win!
