You have the right to request and review any of your personal information.

  • Pricing & Payment

  • All quoted prices assume:

The dogs coat is well maintained free from knots, matts, and tangles.

The dog is well behaved, shows no aggression and does not require additional time/ handling due to anxiety.

The dog is groomed at our recommended intervals.

The dog is not overweight or oversized for the breed.

Any conditions contrary to the above will occur additonal charges to the price quoted.

Preferred payment is bank transfer, card and cash payments also available. This is due before or on collection.

  • Drop off & Collection

  • Appointments are timed for each individual animal. BELLAMY'S CANINES operates on a 1-2-1 basis and therefore overlaps are not possible to accommodate.

Therefore please arrive at your given appointment time, if you are early we may not be able to grant immediate access and would ask that you wait. Please remember to toilet your dog before the grooming appointment. Fouling in the salon may lead to additional time/charges.

Likewise, if you are more than 15 minutes late we may have to refuse your groom on welfare grounds as rushing the groom may lead to unnecessary stress and possible injury. The deposit will not be returned as per the deposit t's & c's.

If you are more than 15 minutes late collecting your dog a late collection charge will be incurred. A £5 charge will be added for every 15 minutes after the given collection time.

  • Health & Welfare

  • At BELLAMY'S CANINES the health and welfare of your pet is our main concern. We understand that grooming can be stressful to some pets and we will make every effort to make grooming with us as easy and enjoyable as possible for your animal.

Please make sure to inform the groomer if your pet has any medical conditions or any stress related issues prior to grooming.

Occasionally, grooming can expose a hidden medical problem or aggravate a current one. This can occur during or after grooming. All medical expenses for veterinary care will be covered by the animal’s owner upon signing this agreement.

Grooming equipment is sharp, and although we use extreme caution and care in all situations, possible problems could occur including cuts, nicks, scratches, quicking of nails, etc. In the event an accident does occur, you will be notified of the accident. If we feel it is serious, and the owner is not on-site, we will seek immediate veterinary care for your pet, this will occur at the owner’s expense.

  • Fleas & Ticks

  • If your dog is known to have a parasitic infestation, we ask that your grooming appointment is rescheduled to a time when your pet is free from said infestation. 48 hours notice must be provided to avoid a cancellation charge. We recommend that you contact your veterinary surgeon to provide you with the best recommended treatment.

If fleas are found on your dog at or during the appointment, it will be immediately cancelled. The treatment of fleas upon the animal is solely the owners responsibility, we will not provide any sort of flea removal or treatment. BELLAMY'S CANINES are required to undergo additional disinfection of our premises and equipment in such circumstances. Therefore an additional £20 will be charged to your bill ontop of the paid deposit.

If ticks are found an additional £10 will be charged to include removal. We will not be held responsible for any infection caused by the tick or removal thereof. Veterinary checkup/treatment should be sought after tick removal at the owners expense.

  • Aggression

  • BELLAMY'S CANINES reserve the right to refuse to groom any dog if we believe it may cause injury to itself or any members of staff. If a dog exhibits aggression or behaviour we have not been informed of prior to the groom, the session may be stopped immediately, and the full fee incurred.

We must be informed prior to grooming of any previous history of biting or aggression. Please see the dangerous dogs act which holds owners liable for bites and injuries.

  • Satisfaction and Feedback

  • Before your groom you should make your groomer aware of any changes you would like made to your animals groom, eg. shorter, longer, different facial style. This can then be discussed to suit your lifestyle and grooming schedule.

Your satisfaction is important to us. If you are unhappy for any reason at collection, please let us know and we would be happy to make small changes before you leave. Once, however, you take your pet home from the appointment, any return visits will be treated as a new appointment and client will be charged a grooming fee.

After each session we will inform you of any problems we have encountered, or any concerns we have regarding your dog. This is the time to inform us of any concerns you have in relation to the groom.

  • Matting Consent Form

In Accordance with The Animal Welfare Act 2006
  • If your animals coat is matted we will use our professional opinion to decide the best course of action. Small matts the size of a 50p coin may be able to be brushed out, however anything more extnesice will be shaved in the best interests of your animals welfare. You will be contacted immeadiatly upon the decision to remove matting, this is as a curteousy. This form acts as permission on any and every appointment to act as we see fit.

When a dog’s coat becomes matted, it causes discomfort. The matts pull tightly on the skin and when it is clipped short, it may occasionally reveal sore, reddened and/or irritated skin. This is due to the fact that the skin has not been able to breathe and air circulation is not restored. Clipping a matted coat can take longer and cause additional wear and tear on our equipment so a further fee may be chargeable in addition to the normal groom price. The process of de-matting increases the risk of injury including but not limited to cuts and grazes, skin irritations caused by the shortness of the clipper blades that will be used as well as possible haematomas. In addition, you may see some behavioural changes such as head shaking, excessive scratching, licking and “scooting”. This is where the dog will scrape their back end on the floor to relive itching and irritations. Should you have any concerns you should seek advise from your usual vet. Additional charges may be incurred due to the wear on equipment, additional products used, as well as time and skill needed to remove matting. By signing this form you are aware of the risks above and ackmowledge that BELLAMY'S CANINES are not held liable for any effects or veterinary costs that may arise from matting or removal.
