Internet access is available to students and teachers in our school. We are very pleased to bring this access to WCCA and believe the Internet offers vast, diverse, and unique resources to both students and teachers. Our goal in providing this service to teachers and students is to promote educational
excellence in schools by facilitating resource sharing, innovation, and communication.
The use of the Internet is a privilege, not a right, and inappropriate use will result in a cancellation of those privileges. The administration will deem what is inappropriate use, and their decision is final. The faculty and staff may request the administration to revoke a student’s privileges. Parents also have the option to revoke a child’s access to the Internet.
The following guidelines are provided so everyone is aware of the rules that will be enforced while using the Internet. If a student violates any of these provisions, he or she will be denied future access or possibly suspended if deemed necessary.
NO STUDENT IS TO ACCESS THE INTERNET WITHOUT A TEACHER PRESENT.
DO NOT VANDALIZE INPUT DEVICES, COMPUTERS, SOFTWARE, OR NETWORK DEVICES.
NO ACCESS OF SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES (FACEBOOK, MYSPACE, ETC.) OR PERSONAL E-MAIL WILL BE PERMITTED AT SCHOOL.
DO NOT DOWNLOAD SOFTWARE WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM YOUR TEACHER.
DO NOT USE THE NETWORK FOR ANY ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES.
DO NOT DELIBERATELY SPREAD COMPUTER VIRUSES.
USE APPROPRIATE LANGUAGE.
AVOID OFFENSIVE OR INFLAMMATORY SPEECH.
BE AWARE THAT GIVING OUT PERSONAL INFORMATION ON THE INTERNET CAN BE DANGEROUS.
DO NOT USE A SCHOOL ACCOUNT TO POST ANONYMOUS OR FALSE INFORMATION.
