Welcome to supervision! I am delighted to be your coaching supervisor and I am looking forward to our work together. On a business note, these are my policies & guidelines for our work together. Please let me know if you have any questions or anything you would like to add.
Agreements
The core foundations of supervision are curiosity, openness, kindness and reflection. If there is anything that arises that upsets you or makes you feel unreasonably uncomfortable, or you would like to make changes to our way of working, please bring it to my attention. In order for our work to be transformative, we must be open and honest and vulnerable. My hope is we can work together to create a safe space where we feel supported and can be ourselves and I believe there is a learning opportunity in every exchange of feedback and with every trigger point.
Primer on Supervision
The core purpose of supervision is to help you provide a cleaner, clearer and more powerful presence with your clients by unveiling and embodying your whole Self. Together, we build a greater capacity to step back, see more and hold more powerful spaces for our clients to transform. This is why some people call it Super-Vision. We will be on a peer to peer journey. Often transformative experiences occur for both the supervisor and the supervisee. There is space for the supervisor to be directive, share intuition, and identify what is emerging from their body, emotions or even their own relevant hangups. There is space for the supervisee to choose or decline any tools or pathways through their supervision process. There is space for constructive honesty and re-direction from both parties.
Supervision is a reflective discussion different from coaching. It is focused on your coaching practice and the development of your presence as coach for your clients. To this end, I request you bring at least one client case to each session. It may be the same client. If we begin to enter the realm of coaching, I will be responsible for returning us to supervision.
Supervision is also not mentoring. We may at times address skills, competencies and ethical dilemmas in our sessions, but supervision is not designed to mentor coaches toward an ICF or EMCC rating/certification. However, supervision does improve the coaching mindset to allow for more transformative coaching sessions, which may lead to a higher level of coaching competency. If we veer to far into mentoring, I will be responsible for returning us to supervision.
Supervision is eligible for up to 10 core competency credits annually through the ICF.

I will be working with my own supervisor to support me supporting you. Your private information, including name, will not be shared. By signing this document, you give me permission to bring my own experience supervising to my supervisor or supervision group.
I am a member of the ICF and and abide by their code of ethics.
