Express Review Process

In order to request an express plan review, your plan must already be submitted into the Electronic Plan Review system and the original plan fee paid.

You must then fill out this Express Fire Plan Review application and submit it. Upon receipt of your completed application, a plan reviewer will begin the plan review process within 8 hours or one business day. In an effort to track plan reviewer time during the review process it is preferred that the reviewer begin an express review at the start of the next business day.

Only the applicant or an authorized agent can request an express review fee. The applicant will be charged the express review fee once your plan has been completed. The Greensboro Fire Marshal's office holds the authority to not accept an express review request. Any express plan review request not accepted for an express review will remain in the plan tracking system and reviewed in the order in which it was received. The applicant who submitted the express review application request will not be charged for the express review fee if an express review is not performed. The applicant will be notified that their plan was not accepted for the express review process.

Anyone who submits a form should be aware that in accordance with the North Carolina Public Records law, found in North Carolina General Statutes Chapter 132, his or her e-mail address is considered public record.

Express Review Fee Schedule

Express Review Fee - An express review is subject to a $1500.00 fee for the first hour with a one hour minimum required for all express reviews. An additional $375.00 will be charged for each 15 minute increment of review time once the first hour of review time has been exhausted.
Express Resubmission Review Fee - An express resubmission review is subject to a $900.00 fee per resubmission request. Each time a plan is resubmitted it is re-entered into the plan tracking system with a new time stamp and the wait time is dependent upon the number of plans currently waiting to be reviewed. Each resubmission will be subject to a fee if an express review is requested each time a plan is resubmitted for a revision.
