The Arts was the cornerstone of Whitney Houston’s career. She was an actress, model, producer, singer and all around entertainer. The Whitney E. Houston Legacy Foundation will offer scholarships in the arts to any of the 106 HBCU (Historically Black College and Universities) in Acting, Music, Visual & Graphic Arts and Directing. If awarded a scholarship, the monies is to be used towards tuition & fees or room & board.

Eligibility

The following is required to apply for a scholarship in the areas of Arts & Letters:

Must be a high school senior who attends a performing arts school

Must demonstrate academic achievement with a cumulative gradepoint average of 2.8 or higher

Must have a SAT score of 1000 or ACT score of 25

Must provide proof of acceptance to a 4-year HBCU for the 2023-2024 academic school year

Plan of study must be in one of the following fields: acting, directing, graphic & visual arts, music

Requirement

Provide an official transcript for the most recently academic term (2023)

Provide two (2) letters of recommendation on official letterhead. Letter must be from a non-relative and include the name, title, organization, signature and contact information.
