Check out how schools across Texas celebrated their School Lunch Heroes!!
  • Pasadena ISD

School Lunch Hero Day coinciding with Cinco de Mayo this year made for a colorful, festive day of celebrating the wonderful cafeteria staff! Pasadena ISD’s team of supervisors spent the day visiting each campus to surprise every cafeteria team member with a personalized tote bag, recognizing the important role that school lunch heroes play in nourishing students to cultivate growth and learning. Many campus leaders joined in celebrating too, expressing their gratitude and appreciation for the #SchoolLunchHeroes who support students and ensure they are fueled for success, day after day!

  • Willis ISD

Willis ISD treated their school nutrition staff like Super Heroes! The Willis Child Nutrition Director dressed up as SuperMan and personally handed out Super Hero gift bags to show appreciation for all the hard work and dedication Willis ISD school lunch heroes demonstrate every day.

  • San Marcos ISD

To celebrate, San Marcos ISD directors delivered  a SLHD apron, certificate, and several treats to each hero and thanked them in person for providing nutritious meals to students every day.  In addition, the district also helped celebrate their school lunch heroes with a donut breakfast and BBQ lunch for each campus.

  • Judson ISD

For School Lunch Hero Day, Judson ISD nutrition staff got into the SLHD spirit and put on their super hero capes, masks, and nutrition tools. Even their new superintendent joined the serving line to learn what it takes to provide healthy lunches to students each day!
