Recipients and Responders’ Wellbeing
It is paramount that the safety and wellbeing of Recipients and Responders is always protected. The Connect&Check service is designed to alert Responders if a check-in call isn't acknowledged by the Recipient and maximise the effectiveness of support; maximise the types of support options; and increase the likelihood of professional and emergency services getting to Recipients if an when they need them.
It is critical that the Safety Plan Recipients have with Responders, and the action or inaction Responders take when a check-in call is escalated, does not place the Recipient, Responders, or anyone else in danger. If Responders taking action could result in risk to the Recipients or Responders safety, they need to contact 000 immediately. If a crime is being committed, or someone is in danger, Responders must contact police as soon as able so they can respond as required.
