Dougie's Legacy Animal Rescue has a duty of care for all animals and we need to know as much as we can about you, your family home, and your work life to match the best foster home to our animals. Some of our animals need more TLC and attention than others and we need to know your home is a safe place for our animals. One of our volunteer team members will also call you and visit your home so that we can get to know you and your family even more.

Do you have a car and are able to transport the animals to and from the vet appointments and to meet and greets at parks(dog) or markets when possible?

How many hours each day would your foster be home alone for?

All our cats and kittens are inside only. Are you able to keep all cats and kittens inside and or a cat enclosure weather permitting?

Do you have a safe. secure back yard, fence and gate?

Are you willing to allow us to do a home inspection visit, to make sure your home and yard is safe for all foster animals?

Have you ever surrendered any animal to a shelter/pound/private rehoming and your reason why?

Are you willing to help train and dogs with behaviour issues, if we supply a trainer?

As we are not a big rescue and don’t receive a lot of donations and no government funding at all. There are times when we can supply food if we get donations of food however most monetary donations need to go to our vet bills so that we can save as many animals as possible. We are responsible for any and all vet work for the foster animal and supply the worm and flea treatments. Would you be willing to supply the foster animals food
