**Important Information about a Luena Foundation Grant**
- First-time grants generally do not exceed $1,500 USD.
- Follow-up funding, if applied for and rewarded, generally does not execeed $5,000 USD.
- Luena Foundation requires a minimum 25% community contribution, including at least 10% community cash contribution to the total financial cost of the project. For example, a $5,000 grant requires at least a $500 community cash contribution and at least $750 of either community in-kind or additional cash contributions. We define an in-kind contribution as a non-cash contribution of a good or a service.
- The designated project manager/local leader is expected to keep track of spending and receipts, to practice transparency of grant spending with the local community, and to submit all receipts to Luena Foundation.
