Drop-off Dandelions classes begin Tuesday September 12th, and end Thursday June 20th, running 38 weeks total.

Fall Family Forest Jam class is now on pause for the fall. We are temporarily paring back our class offerings in order to restructure Wildwood into a not-for-profit organization.

Wildwood breaks:

Thanksgiving: November 23 - 26

Winter Holidays: December 23 - January 1

Presidents Day/Midwinter break: February 19 - 23

Spring break: April 1 - April 5

Summer break: June 24 - July 5

A separate "Wildwood Summer Camp" program will begin the week of July 8th, and run for 7 weeks.

One day per week Tuesday or Thursday class, 2.5 HOURS per class: $156 per month, September - June (Plus yearly $20 supply fee)

Two day per week Tuesday and Thursday classes, 2.5 HOURS per class: $312 per month, September - June (Plus yearly $40 supply fee)

*First month's fee due upon acceptance to hold child's spot in program

*Fees are due by the first of each month, September - June.

*5% per month discount for one sibling when more than one sibling is enrolled in class

Is there anything in particular you want us to know about your child or family?

What, if any, experience does your child have with non-family caregivers, and/or structured programs (i.e. preschool, childcare, camps).

Children must be mostly potty trained with minimal assistance to participate in Wildwood drop-off programs. Are you confident that your child will be mostly potty trained with minimal assistance by the time the program begins? What kind of assistance do you anticipate your child needing, especially in seasons where many layers of clothes are being worn? (Not applicable for Parent and Child Family Forest Jam).

Does your child have any health concerns, special needs, injuries, or allergies that might affect them from full participation in forest school programming? Does your child carry an epi-pen or inhaler, or require any other medication to be administered while at Wildwood?:

What type of outdoor activities does your family participate in? How often do you spend time outdoors?

What is your child’s comfort level and experience being outdoors in all weather conditions? Are they comfortable spending extended time outdoors in all weather? Are they comfortable eating and toileting outdoors?

I understand that Wildwood Nature Play programs take place 100% outdoors, in all weather. Children will be outside in all weather conditions, except during severe weather events. There are two open-air outdoor shelters available for cover when needed during inclement weather. One shelter has been outfitted with an outdoor radiant electric patio heater to provide additional warmth from the wind/cold. In order for my child to most successfully and safely immerse themselves in all experiences at Wildwood, I am committed to providing my child appropriate clothing for all weather conditions. I understand that if my child is not outfitted appropriately for the day’s weather, they will not be able to attend forest school on that day.

I understand that Wildwood Nature Play is NOT appropriate for children who do not follow instructions regularly. Children will have the opportunity to engage in risky play activities such as tree climbing, building shelters and forts, and playing in a shallow stream. Classes regularly have a campfire. Children must stay outside of the log ring that encircles the fire area, and walk when near the campfire area. They will need to be able to listen to their teachers’ guidance, and play and collaborate with their peers. They will also be required to go to the bathroom outside and/or in an outhouse with a basic composting toilet.

I understand that Wildwood Nature Play is situated on a rural homestead, surrounded by forest. As such, this land is shared with free range chickens, guinea hens, pygmy goats, as well as wild animals and critters including deer, foxes, wild turkeys, raccoons, turtles, frogs, toads, snakes, bugs, bees, and ticks. There is also a bear in the Colden/Glenwood area, though there has been no evidence of a bear on or near the Wildwood property or immediate neighborhood. I assume all responsibility for applying insect/tick repellant to my child before attending class, and to perform daily tick checks after class.

I understand that Wildwood is not able to provide meals, snacks, or water. As such, I will be required to send a daily hearty snack and large water bottle with my child:

At Wildwood, I understand that 2 hours of parent volunteering per year is suggested as a community-building offering. Volunteer hours may be completed in various ways, including sharing a special skill with the class, working on a larger building project, volunteering at a Wildwood event, etc.

For DROP-OFF PROGRAMMING, I understand that the first month of my child’s program fee is due upon acceptance to hold their space. I understand that the remainder of the program fee is due in monthly installments. If I choose to withdraw my child at least 7 days prior to their first class, the first installment will be refunded. If I choose to withdraw my child less than 7 days before their first class, 50% of their initial program fee will be refunded. FOR DROP-OFF CLASS CONTINUITY AND AS OUR STAFFING AND PAY STRUCTURE IS DICTATED BY THE NUMBER OF CHILDREN ENROLLED, WE ASK THAT YOU COMMIT TO THE DURATION OF THE SEASON, SEPTEMBER-JUNE. IN THE EVENT THAT YOU DO NEED TO WITHDRAW YOUR CHILD ONCE CLASSES HAVE BEGUN, WE REQUIRE 2 WEEKS NOTICE IN WRITING. THE FULL FINAL MONTHLY PAYMENT WILL BE REQUIRED FOR THE MONTH IN WHICH ONE IS WITHDRAWN. For FAMILY FOREST JAM, $175 is due at registration to hold one's spot in class, with the remaining $150 due October 13th. THERE ARE NO REFUNDS FOR PARTICIPANTS WHO WITHDRAW AFTER THE FIRST CLASS, OR WHO CHOOSE NOT TO ATTEND ALL CLASSES.

I understand that this application is NOT a contract and does not automatically confer admission to Wildwood Nature Play. I will be contacted once my application is received, and will be informed as to the status of my child’s acceptance. If all spaces are full, my child will be placed on a waiting list.

Thank you for your application. Returning the completed application does not ensure acceptance to Wildwood Nature Play. Upon acceptance, additional registration documents will be required. All applicants and their families will be expected to consent to certain agreements including but not limited to limitations of liability that are typical in recreational activities of this nature. For 2023-2024 drop-off admission, a family and teacher meeting and tour of Wildwood Nature Play will be required prior to acceptance. Meeting and tour may happen via participation in a scheduled Open House, or in booking a separate meeting time with the Director.
