  • Minority Enterprise Development Week (Med Week) is held annually in Downstate, New York.  The Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce will present its Second Annual MED WEEK.  It will be hosted at the Town of Hemstad’s Town Hall.  The inaugural event for this year's Med Week will be held on October 10th, 2023 from 8:00 am to 1:00pm. The LIAACC is New York State's largest African American Chamber of Commerce.

    Minority Enterprise Development Week – MED Week Offers a venue for minority-owned firms to access information, tools, and resources to grow their businesses both domestically and internationally through networking events, workshops, and issue forums.

    The events that compose MED Week are meant to raise awareness among minority business owners, and the larger business community.

  • Join the African American Small Business Foundation, Inc., the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce of Commerce, Inc. and the 100 Black Men of Eastern New York, Inc. on October 11th, 2023 at Lorraine Gregory Communications in this special event "Saluting Black Media" as part of MED WEEK Activities for 2023 on Long Island.

    The event will be an opportunity to network and support Black Media!  Black Media has played and important part telling stories that are often not reported and at the same time cover mainstream stories!

    Business Wire a Berkshire Hathaway Company & Black PR Wire brought together three experts to discuss the state of Black media and the role it plays both within the news ecosystem and the communities they serve. This study produced a report and was moderated by Bernadette Morris, founder, owner, and CEO of Sonshine Communications and Black PR Wire, Business Wire’s media partner, our panel featured: From how news is covered to how that news powers mainstream media, this panel provided deep insights into the role of Black media in today’s news ecosystem.
