Leimert Park Juneteenth Festival Local Economy Business Pitch and Grant: Fundamental Rules, Terms and Conditions
Local Vendor up to $750 booth fee grant
Eligibility: Available only to open air economy street vendors, micro enterprises, and entrepreneurs operating locally. Entities must be independently owned and not affiliated with any national or multinational chains.
Grant Value: Up to $750, to cover participation costs and materials at the 2023 Leimert Park Juneteenth Festival.
Application: Applicants must submit a description of their goods or services, which must be appropriate for the festival's theme and suitable for a family-friendly environment.
Selection: Applications will be reviewed by the approval committee. Selection will be based on the applicant uniqueness, social responsibly and experience and track record at the festival and in the local economy.
Utilization: Grant funds must be used solely for expenses related to participation in the Leimert Park Juneteenth Festival Vendor Marketplace. This includes but is not limited to: booth set-up costs, materials, products for sale, and travel expenses.
Verification: Successful applicants must provide receipts as proof of proper fund usage. Misuse of funds may result in disqualification and potential legal action.
Deadline: Applications must be received by the posted deadline. Late applications will not be considered.
Non-Discrimination: We are committed to equal opportunity. All applications will be considered without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, or any other protected class.
Limitation: One application per business entity.
Dispute Resolution: Any disputes regarding the grant or application process will be settled by an independent arbitrator in the County of Los Angeles as agreed upon by both parties.
Data Usage: By applying, you consent to the use of your business's data for promotional and reporting purposes related to the Leimert Park Juneteenth Festival and Elevate Culture Corporation.

Business Pitch Contest
Please read these terms and conditions carefully before participating in the Business Pitch Contest ("the Contest"). By submitting your application and participating in the Contest, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
Eligibility:
The Contest is open to entrepreneurs aged 18 and above.
The Contest is open to businesses that are legally registered and operational.
Employees, directors, and officers of the organizing non-profit organization and their immediate family members are not eligible to participate.
Business Pitch Contest Application Process:
All participants must complete the designated application form to enter the Contest.
The application form must be submitted within the specified deadline.
Each participant may submit only one application.
All information provided in the application must be accurate and complete.
Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
Selection and Judging:
Twenty businesses will be selected as finalists from the pool of applicants.
Finalists will be chosen by a panel of judges appointed by the non-profit organization.
The judging criteria may include, but are not limited to, innovation, feasibility, market potential, and presentation quality.
The decision of the judges will be final and binding.
Prizes:
The first-place winner will receive a cash prize of $2500.
The second-place winner will receive a cash prize of $1500.
The third-place winner will receive a cash prize of $1000.
The cash prizes are non-transferable and will be awarded in the form of a check or electronic transfer.
Intellectual Property:
Participants retain all rights to their intellectual property.
By entering the Contest, participants grant the non-profit organization a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use their business name, logo, and pitch content for promotional and marketing purposes related to the Contest.
Publicity and Promotion:
Participants may be required to participate in interviews, media appearances, and other promotional activities related to the Contest.
Participants grant the non-profit organization the right to use their names, photographs, and biographical information for promotional purposes.
Reporting and Accountability:
Business Pitch Contest recipients will be required to submit a progress reports to the non-profit organization, detailing how the funds utilized has impacted their business.
Business Pitch Contest recipients must be willing to share their experiences and success stories for promotional and reporting purposes.
Publicity and Promotion:
Business Pitch Contest recipients may be required to participate in interviews, media appearances, and other promotional activities related to the Program.
Business Pitch Contest recipients grant the non-profit organization the right to use their names, photographs, and business information for promotional purposes.
Liability:
The non-profit organization and its affiliates, directors, officers, employees, and agents are not responsible for any loss, damage, or injury incurred by participants in connection with the Contest.
Participants are responsible for any taxes or legal obligations arising from the receipt of cash prizes.
Modification or Cancellation:
The non-profit organization reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the Contest at any time and for any reason.
In the event of cancellation, the non-profit organization shall not be liable for any claims or damages.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction:
These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of California.
Any disputes arising out of or in connection with the Contest shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of California.
By participating in the Contest, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.
