Sunday, July 9th: Tour of Thessaloniki

Time: 9:45am - 12:00pm, departing from the Makedonia Palace Hotel

Cost: 15€ for Museum and Tour Guide

This event is limited to the first 30 registrants.

*Update* Due to demand, an additional tour of 30 has been added and is now able to be registered for!

During this tour, you'll get to experience a seafront deck offering spectacular views of Thessaloniki. We'll also make a stop outside the iconic White Tower of Thessaloniki and pass through Navarinou Square, where you can see the remnants of the Galerius Roman palace. Continuing our journey, we'll visit Kamara and Rotunda, which are part of the Galerius complex and recognized as UNESCO monuments. Finally, we'll conclude the tour at Navarinou Square after exploring the Rotunda.

Monday, July 10th: Dinner at Palati

Time: 6:30pm

Cost: Minimum order price of 25€ per person. The menu and dish prices can be found here.

Join us for an authentic Greek dinner experience with live music at Palati, a local taverna. Palati is an approximate 30-minute walk from the Makedonia Palace Hotel (primarily along the water) or a 20-minute drive.

This is an on-your-own dinner. IACM is simply taking reservations for you to join a group at dinner on Monday evening. Transportation and meal cost will be handled by the individuals joining for the evening.

Wednesday, July 12th: Post-Conference Trip to Gerovassiliou Winery

Time: 2:15pm. Bus to and from Makedonia Palace Hotel (45-minute trip each way)

Cost: $50 USD / 47€ EUR

Experience the scenic beauty of a meticulously-maintained vineyard that surrounds the modern Ktima Gerovassiliou winery, where world-renowned wines are crafted. Located on the slopes of Epanomi, a few kilometers from the vibrant city of Thessaloniki, this winery offers an unforgettable experience.

This event will include the following:

• Bus from Makedonia Palace Hotel to Ktima Gerovassiliou Winery (45 minute trip)
• Tour of vineyard
• Research discussion on the wine industry
• Tasting experience and light food
• We will return from the winery back at the Makedonia Palace Hotel at approximately 7:45pm.

Thursday, July 13: Post-Conference Trip to Mount Olympus & Dion

Time: July 13th, Early Morning Departure from Makedonia Palace Hotel

Cost: $125 USD / 117€ EUR

This event will include the following:

• Bus to and from Makedonia Palace Hotel (1-hour trip each way)
• Entry and guided tour of Dion
• 20-minute hike on Mount Olympus
• Lunch at local restaurant
• Swim at Plaka beach

We will return to the Makedonia Palace Hotel in the evening of July 13th.

This event is limited to the first 48 registrants.

Our itinerary begins with a guided tour at the archaeological site and contemporary museum of Dion, an ancient Macedonian sanctuary devoted to Zeus. Situated at the base of Mount Olympus, this historical site offers a fascinating glimpse into the past. Following a brief hike at Mount Olympus, we will enjoy lunch at a charming traditional village restaurant and cool off with a swim at Plaka beach.
