The Bands of Lakewood Ranch High School is an award-winning non-profit 501c3organization, composed of the Mustang Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Jazz Bands, Winter Guard, and Indoor Percussion. They represent Lakewood Ranch High School and the greater Lakewood Ranch community at competitions and events across the state and nation, bringing home trophies, accolades, and experience. These dedicated young musicians and performers put in countless hours, blood, sweat, and tears to make every performance their best. Of course, the travel, equipment, uniforms, props, and supplies to represent our community costs money. We are seeking local businesses and organizations to partner with and sponsor these fine students. Not only would your contribution help these amazing students continue their award-winning representation of our community, but it would also give you a new platform to promote your business to a broader audience and customer base.
The Mustang Marching Band is already hard at work on their 2023 show, competing annually in the Florida Bandmasters Association and Florida Marching Band Coalition competitions across the region and at the state level. Last November, the Marching Mustangs finished 4th at the State Championships at the 3A level in Ft. Lauderdale and were invited to march as part of a combined high school marching band at the Allstate Sugar Bowl in New Orleans halftime show, performing before over 60,000 spectators! The Marching Mustangs and their drumline also perform throughout the community and participate in multiple parades throughout the year.
Our Winter Guard, in only its second year competing in the Florida Federation of Colorguard Circuits, competed regionally, winning every competition, and taking home 1st place at the State Championships.
Our Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and Jazz Bands are our more ‘traditional’ bands, but they are far from ordinary. Our Wind Ensemble received straight Superior ratings at the district Music Performance Assessments, earning a highly sought-after invitation to the state-level competition, while our Jazz 1 Band not only earned straight Superiors at districts, but was invited to the state competition in the Palm Beach area, earning a coveted straight Superior rating (the highest).
The Bands of Lakewood Ranch hold at least 6 concerts every Spring, hold our PRISM concert every December - a fundraising event featuring music from every band, silent auction, skits, and a raffle, host Music in Motion – a regional marching band competition, bringing in bands from across the region to compete on our field and utilize our facilities, and this year we hosted our first annual color guard/indoor percussion/indoor winds competition at Lakewood Ranch High School, which will become an annual event.
