    Miniature - 2 1/2 inches (6 cm) or less

    Small - over 2 1/2 inches (6 cm) to 3 inches (8 cm)

    Medium - over 3 inches (8 cm) to 4 inches (10 cm)

    Large - over 4 inches (10 cm) to 5 inches (13 cm)

    Very Large - over 5 inches (13 cm)

    Important: The size below must be consistent with the measured (UNTREATED) diameter of the bloom.  For example, if a bloom diameter is 4", it could be a) Medium, b) Large or c) Medium to large.  Since blooms are rarely ever all one size, a better description would be to get a range of measurements. Examples might be

                                                   1) (3 7/8" - 4 1/8") - Medium to large

                                                  2) (3 5/8" - 3 7/8") - Medium

                                                  3) (4 1/8" - 4 1/4") - Large

    Written authorization is required from persons whose names are proposed for new cultivars. If your application is approved, you will receive the Naming Permission Form from ACS Executive Director Matthew Israel. Complete the form and have the person whom you are naming the cultivar sign granting authorization. Scan and return the completed form as a pdf attachment to misrael@americancamellias.org. If you are unable to scan the form, you can mail the completed form to the ACS.
