Responsibilities for Hillel Torah Technology Device
The Hillel Torah-issued device is a learning tool and is for educational purposes only. In completing this form, I take full responsibility for the device I am renting from Hillel Torah and commit that my child(ren) will adhere to the following guidelines:
- The device is my child’s responsibility and they will not leave it in unsupervised areas or harsh environments.
- My child will treat the device appropriately which includes not removing any protective case and protecting the screen from damage.
- My child will report any mechanical or technical issues to the HT technology department at tech@hilleltorah.org.
- My child will not remove or modify any identification labels that have been placed on the device and will not add stickers, labels, tags, or markings to the device.
- My child will not change the assigned name of the device.
- My child will use the device only for appropriate, legitimate, and responsible communications.
- My child will keep my accounts and passwords secure. My child will not attempt to add, delete, access, or modify other user accounts on the device.
- My child will not remove the installed content on the device.
- My child will make every effort to ensure that the HT-owned device is not damaged, lost, or stolen while in their possession. If it is, I am responsible for the cost of repair or a replacement device of equal value.
- My child will not remove any keys from the keyboard. If keys are removed or damaged I will be responsible for the entire keyboard replacement cost.
- I will purchase a protective case for my child’s iPad (K-2 grade).
- Any screen protector applied to the device will be considered part of the device and will be returned at the end of the year with the device.
- In case of damage, loss, theft, or vandalism, I understand that I am responsible for repair or replacement fees of the HT-owned device and all accessories (chargers, power cables, etc.)
- If broken or damaged, I will notify tech@hilleltorah.org, and have my child bring the device to the Hillel Torah office for an assessment by the tech department. I will not take it in to have it fixed on my own. After assessing the device, the tech staff will provide further instructions.
- In the instance of theft/vandalism, I will notify the HT office and, if instructed to, file a report with the appropriate law enforcement agency. I will provide the office with a copy of the report.
Device Return:
At the end of the year, my child will return the device and all accessories provided (chargers, power cable etc.) in good working condition.
Violations of these provisions may result in the revocation of the device from student use.
By filling out this form I agree to the terms of the HT Technology Device Rental Agreement and accept full responsibility for the Hillel Torah owned device.
