This agreement is between the Rescue Rehome Repeat of South Louisiana and {name}. Rescue Rehome Repeat of South Louisiana agrees to give the foster parent possession and control of foster animals contingent upon the terms outlined below. As a foster parent, I agree to the following terms:
- Pay $100 non-refundable deposit. Deposit applied toward adoption fees.
- Provide food, shelter, and care for the foster animal, taking full responsibility for its wellbeing.
- Ensure that the dog/puppy primarily lives indoors and is always supervised, even in a fenced yard. If there is no fenced yard, the dog/puppy will remain indoors and be taken outside on a leash regularly for exercise and elimination.
- Comply with all state and local laws regarding the care and keeping of the animal.
- Take full responsibility for damage caused by the animal while under the foster parent’s care.
- Understand that RRR will take precautions to ensure the animal's health but cannot be held responsible for unforeseen health issues that may arise while the animal is in the foster parent's care. The foster parent is responsible for separating the animal from other pets in case of contagious illnesses and for any resulting medical needs of resident animals.
- If unable to continue fostering the animal(s), contact RRR and await the placement of a new foster home (2-4 weeks).
- Commit to fostering the animal until it has received the necessary vetting and training to be adoptable. RRR will determine the appropriate time for a permanent adoption arrangement.
- Take the animal(s) to the veterinarian for vaccinations, spaying/neutering, or any other necessary medical treatments (all treatments must be pre-approved, except in extreme emergencies).
- Agree to indemnify and hold RRR and its Board of Directors harmless from any liability or injuries arising from volunteering as a foster home.
- Be responsible for making arrangements for the safe care of foster animals in case of travel and cover all related boarding expenses.
- Have sufficient homeowner's/renter's insurance to cover any injury or damage caused by a foster pet and be aware of any breed restrictions that may apply.
- To plan to sign an official adoption contract no later than 14 days. In cases where medical needs are present, time can be extended as necessary. Our goal is to be sure ALL our animals get a forever home. Any length of time beyond the above must be communicated and arranged with RRR to prevent the removal of the animal to facilitate adoption to different parties.
By signing this agreement, the Foster Parent agrees that he/she has read and understands the above and agrees to abide by all of its provisions. RRR may reclaim the animal(s), if in their judgment the animal(s) are not being cared for properly, or if in RRR’s sole discretion, it is determined that the Foster Parent has not complied with the terms of this agreement.
